Nine students riding 900+ miles from London to Monte Carlo for Cancer Research UK

End of an era…

Arrived in Monte Carlo at 4pm local time to cheers and horns from a few parents and 3 dedicated work friends - Charlotte Stuart, Amelia Griffiths and Sophie “Toast” Groves. Great support which means a heck of a lot to all the team.

We’ve come a long way since Day 1 where it all went “Paul Chong”. Getting to the hotel in the early hours of the morning after a horrendous Day 1 we were all struggling to see how we’d possibly make it to Monte Carlo. The routes got tougher, the injuries got worse but we never stopped. We never thought of quitting and our achievement is unfathomable.

We’ve completed the hardest challenge and biggest achievement of our lives, one which we’ve been working towards this moment for over 7 months, taking up every spare moment of our time. All for a superb cause - Cancer Research - and one that deserves all the efforts we put in.

We did everything off our own backs. From the route, generating funds to every little bit of logistics for the ride. A mammoth task and a mammoth achievement.

Group of friends bound by the unified purpose of travelling 1,000 miles on 2 wheels. So much spirit, so much belief, so much togetherness. But with the help of our magnificent sponsors who we proudly wore on our jerseys and our friends and families we conquered probably the greatest feat we’ll ever complete in our lifetimes. We will never forget the past 9 days.

A huge thank you to Nicky and Dave Stannard who were our support drivers and our source of enthusiasm for the challenge. They were truly invaluable to the cause and we’d never have been able to do it without them. So much thanks goes out to them and we can only hope they realise how much their happy faces spurred us on every day.

A massive thank you to our sponsors:

And lastly thanks for all of your support. We could not have done this without the support of our friends and family who were behind us every step of the way. We were laughed at, ignored, mocked at the idea of cycling from London to Monte Carlo, but we always had your support which We are truly grateful for.

Enough of this, time to celebrate!!!!!
